Hemp
Hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) is a member of the Cannabaceae family and is distinct from its psychoactive cousin, marijuana. While both plants belong to the same species, hemp contains less than 0.3% tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the compound responsible for the “high” associated with marijuana. Instead, hemp is rich in cannabidiol (CBD), a non-psychoactive compound with numerous health benefits.
