Drupe (Stone Fruits)

Drupes, commonly known as stone fruits, are a category of fruits characterized by a fleshy exterior and a hard, stone-like pit (endocarp) surrounding the seed. Belonging to the Rosaceae family, these fruits include popular varieties like peaches, plums, cherries, apricots, and almonds. Peaches, for instance, originated in China and were later introduced to Persia and Europe via the Silk Road. Similarly, apricots were first grown in Armenia before spreading to the Mediterranean.
